Head Quarterback Coach

Jeff Christensen was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 5th round as the 135th player taken overall in the 1983 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Eastern Illinois University where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jeff spent 8 years in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Jeff hung up his helmet and cleats and put on his coaching cap in the late 1980’s. Today Jeff has coached 3000+ QB’s throughThrow It Deep. Throw It Deep is based out of the Chicago area and specializes in year-round quarterback and wide receiver training and development. Regarded by hundreds of coaches and players in football as the top expert in proper QB technique training, Coach Christensen currently trains over 300+ QBs in the country including a handful of starting NFL QBs.

Coach Christensen has created a system of specific drills now endorsed and used by high school, college, and NFL coaches across the country. These drills have proven to be instrumental in developing and perfecting proper footwork that leads to improved throwing mechanics and better accuracy. Jeff has been invited to be a QB trainer at the Nike Elite 11, Under Armour Combine, Football University (FBU), Schuman Camps and combines all over the world. College & NFL coaches frequently invite Jeff to attend their practices and games to assess their quarterback’s mechanics and throwing technique.

At Throw It Deep, Coach Christensen instills in his athletes the drive to get better regardless of age or current skill level. From youth to the pros, each player is treated the same. Jeff also believes that coaching the proper technique of throwing and catching the football is not where Throw It Deep begins and ends. He leads a session during Sunday workouts dubbed “The Talk” where he speaks to the athletes about topics that center around issues that we face today in football and in life. Leadership, teamwork, discipline, integrity, and respect are promoted to athletes so they display a high level of character on and off the field.
